I used the same television programme that I took the Wallgate photo from to take this still photo of the Market Square, similar date 1900 to 1910.

Hi Ron. Using Sky+, record programme, pause at suitable moment, then take a digital photo. Very simple really.

Hi Joan, the programme was on BBC 4 and was all about the early films of Mitchell and Kenyon who were based in Blackburn but who made a living by filming, usually in large industrial areas such as Wigan and encouraged the population to then go along to their local cinema to watch themselves and their friends on the big screen.

Joan, the Mitchell & Kenyon films are available on DVD or were a few years ago.
