Could be the old drill hall in wigan....St Georges church in the background?

would have thought this was a family photo, possibly showing his mother, grandparents and aunt, outside their house.

It appears to be the side view of a church, which has no grounds to it? (Like St Georges, but I don't think it is.) As Looking from Standishgate you see a front view of St. Georges church.

If you know your great grandparents names you might find them in the 1911 Census, the chances are they could be in the same street as in the photograph.

The lady behind is his mother, but we haven't seen the others in any other photos. It does look like a church behind with quite distinctively shaped windows. I've looked at St George's but it doesn't seem to be there. We were thinking somewhere in Ince or Hindley most likely but have drawn a blank. Thanks for suggestions.

I agree with GWP about it being a family photo. Can you give us your great grandmother's name, we then may be able to find some links on ancestry.

St Georges it is , i can recognise the window on church , lived near here for 25 yrs ,

Cannot see this as St George's in water street, the church doesn't have any buttresses as seen to the left hand side of the window

This looks like a street off park road going up to sacred heart club.
