Harry Marshall who owned the shop lived in the detached bungalow in Withington Lane the one facing Ash Lane.his brother owned the farm facing the saw mill across the canal

Cindy I was born in Leeds st in 1960 moved to Albion Drive when the old houses got pulled down.I moved to Australia in 1981 and been here ever since.

There was Mcindles Chippy @47 Liverpool st.Bob Telfords,corner of Leeds st @ a toffee shop at other end corner of Albion st, Knowles fruit shop corner of Coils entry withington Lane,also a shop on canal bank, liverpool st opposite side of road to the Kirkless.

Jimmy worked for Wigan Corporation and Peggy had her old mother, my Great Auntie Maggie,living with them .I think it was at No.6, nearer to the New Springs Bridge.I think my Great Auntie Jinny Rutter and her husband Matt lived nearby.
