Vauxhall Victor 101 in production 1964-1967, later the FD series Victor was produced the VX490 and Ventora range. The car in the photo is a 1966 101 a short lived car, in production for only two years.

Looks like trouble with the sills, as with a lot of cars of in the 60's.

I had a Vauxhall victor estate in 1969, The reg was GUG101D. I used it to pull a trailer, selling fruit and veg etc. on the Merton Road estate. It was wrecked at the Haydock island when it was side swiped by a car coming through the lights on red.

I learned to drive in a 1958 Victor, the one with the fins on the back wings, three forward gears column change.

Comment by: Colin Harlow on 18th November 2013 at 20:10

That would be the Victor FA, Harry.

I remember you Andrea when you were a little girl living in Prescott Lane. I think your Mum's maiden name was Roberts and they lived across the road from me in Dean Crescent. Small world - happy days.

Thanks Colin. It also had white sidewall tyres twin radio arials on the back wings spot lights stylish wheel trims and chrome hooded head lights very flash in keeping with the time. It wasn't mine it belonged to a family friend. H.
