Had my first pint in there, and was my regular in the 1960's. Used to go on with my mate( we were both only 16 or 17) and play dominoes in the room on the left as you went in. Never saw any trouble and had a great friendly atmosphere.Happy days

abit before my time but does anyone remember the old man that used to play the piano in Jem Lowes his name was Charlie but i can't remember his last name & his wife's name was Hilda..My sister & brother used to go in this pub in the 60s

Charlie Mather was the pianist,wonderful chap, but sadly died some years ago.

my dad john scroggie also played the piano in there and it was a home from home pub what a waste.
