A Caravan was a complete write-off when it became uncoupled from it's vehicle on Belle Green Lane, in 1966. It ploughed into the houses that caused no damage to the property.
In the background, the railway bridge can be seen on the Whelley loop line.

Awh what a shame, holidays ruined for the future and a caravan holds such memories too. I bet they where so gutted.

That picture brings back memories of belle green lane
Those shops on the left just before the bridge
Was one of them a cloggers

the shop you can see on the left with the big window was Cartwrights Cloggers the shop just about where the black and white pole is denoting the low bridge was John and Barberas... she was the daughter of Alice who owned the little shop near the oak tree pub

My auntie Nellie Parr worked in the chippy for years. Her daughter was Pauline Parr and they lived just across from the crash.

Josie. My mum used to live in York street. Do you remember the Naylors?
