Nice photo Caroline, but not 1963, it's much later than that. The Triumph stag was launched between 1970-1977.

Colin
The trousers are 1970's but I have just noticed the registration number on the previous photo. Its C Reg... 1965 ????? Is it the same car though?

Agreed. The other black-and-white photo looks more like 1963, but the gentleman looks a bit older on this one and the trousers are more late60s/early 70s. Lovely photos.

Your right Tricia, the other black and white photo is a different car and C reg which is 1965. This photo could well be the mid 1970s.

the c reg car on other photo is a MGB 1964-1965

Comment by: Colin Harlow on 8th January 2012 at 20:30

Sorry Anteater the car on the other photo is not an MGB.
The MGB models were sports cars launched by MG...ie MGC, GT, Roaster and GTV8 etc etc. The car in question is a MG mk2 1964-66, if it were a sports model it's wheels would almost be Rostyle and not steel rims with chrome hub caps.
This dose not take anything away from Eddie's car, a great car in it's day.

this is a triumph stag possibley fitted with a 3500cc engine a v8 which was notorious for the timing chain rattleing and also the water pump failing nice picture caroline

Colin's absolutely spot on, go on the MG web site.

It's def a Triumph Stag. Look closely at the badge on the rear wing and there's the proof!
A very different beast compared to an MG.
