My late Dad, Geoff Buckley outside his house at 12 Mort Street. A very busy street scene! - St Andrews School in the distance.

I never knew this area of Wigan until my son moved to Springfield, and now I pick my Grand-daughter up from St. Andrew's twice a week. Is that a street-lamp at the very end of the row? It appears to be on a wall-bracket rather than a lamp-post.

Hello "S", sorry I don't know your first name. I went to school with Geoff, your dad. If you look on PEOPLE and then on JIMMY'S FRIENDS, you'll see the photo which I put on WW a couple of years ago. I'm on the left, then a lad called Pete, then Jelly Jackson, Melvin Wadsworth, and then your dad. We were in a caravan in N. Wales, year 1959/1960. I remember going to watch Wigan play Wakefield, 1963 I think, when they were filming "This Sporting Life". The last time I saw Geoff was in the Boar's Head. He was with his mates from the Model Engineering Society.

I lived at the end house no.32 fome 1970 till 2004 and I never remember a street lamp being there. Lots of happy memories of good times and friends in Mort Street.

Jim - Yes I saw that photo and left a comment. I have a few other photos of that holiday in North Wales of which you're on and you're more than welcome to have some copies. Dad told me about that Rugby match btw - I think he said all the fans were jeering the actors, haha.
