This is my Grandmother, always known as Mother McGuinn, I guess the year is around 1955.

Wonderful photo, great to see the VIM in the window, bet this shop was better than Tesco. Love the clogs.
She always wore clogs, even after all the local pitmen changed to shoes because they were transferred from the Crow Pit to Bold - Bold was loads more posh!
My Grandparents were Mrs McGuinns next door neighbours,
Mr&Mrs Lockett lived at number 13.
I can recognise Derek Roberts in the pictures and I think Alice Wilton.Thanks for showing these pictures they bring back fond memories of my childhood,I loved going into Mrs McGuinn shop for pop or tofee she had to light the gas mantle to serve you. Alex
