I always thought that house was attached to another building of some sort...I go past it often and it always looks out of place....but must say it looks better there than it does now, i dont like pebble dash! :-)
Joan, Wherabouts in Platt Bridge was Webster Street, was anywhere near Bank Street and Sydney Street?
Webster St is off Walthew Lane
My best mate Dave Alibone lived there in the 70s and 80s... it is so odd to see it like that. We used to have some marathon Monopoly games in the kitchen! I will have to drop him an email to show him this.
ERIC TAYLOR LIVED IN THIS HOUSE, HE WAS BORN THERE 1943 ,HE WAS IN MY CLASS ALL THE WAY THROUGH SCHOOL,WE LEARNED TO PLAY SNOOKER IN HIS FRONT ROOM HIS DAD,JIM WAS A BUS DRIVER.

I lived in this house with my parents Peggy&Jimmy Taylor from 1946 to 1960,we then moved to 163 Walthew Lane
At the side of the photo there is a white patch There was a row of terraced houses built from there on Walthew Lane That white patch was the bottom of our back yard where I lived till I was 18 it is still there 155 Walthew lane .At the left hand side of the pic there was a row of semis built(Webster Street)Mrs Briggs lived in the end one and used to sell fresh mint !!! for our Sunday Roast dinner.
