Have just come across these pics,,yet have left comments on other (little sandhole pics ) about sledging down Birkett St,,,what brill pic,,,not very one had there own sledge so what would happen maybe as many of 4 lads would try to get on sledge lying on top of each other and as you say we would have some one stood at the bottom to warn of any cars coming down Birky Bank,,,,,lol,as you said ,,not much traffic around them days....
