The pub in the back ground is THE WHITE LOIN my Gr Gr Grandad waslandlord from 1901 to 1903

To the left of the pub where the hoardings are is this where Pemberton Caravans was to be in later years? The animal to the right of the photo looks like a goat with a striped football jersey on, bet the lad got a few biffs whilst putting the jersey on it.

Wonderful to see the old photos of Pemberton. The George
pub was occupied at one time by George Wilding who married Lizzy Winstanley the ice cream people they had a shop further up Orrell Road. Remember Winstanleys ice cream.

winstanlys icecream shop best ice cream in lommra ,my mum used to call it whackums ,why i do not know ,great memories .up bottle neck there were families evacuated from liverpool ,one family named gordon their last name ,lovely family ,i put bottle neck , i should have said back lane
