I don't know anything about these men but I often delivered sugar to Sunpat toffee works at Lowton from Tate & Lyle's, Liverpool in the 1950's and received a bag of reject toffees as a tip. E.T.
I know that Sunpat (Golborne) had a football team that included a goalkeeper named Waterworth. He also played for Wigan Athletic Reserves and made one first team appearance against Stubshaw Cross in April 1951.
I maintained the 26 D and G D coin machine's making Elizabeth Shaw mint crisps.its funny i was'nt 20 stone with all the cups of molten milk chocolate i drank, and scoffing coffee creams from the end of the line.the bloke in charge of the line was a great bloke and master chocolate maker Fritz (cant remember his second name),he was a dutchman,he showed me photo's of the cakes he'd made for the big football clubs, Arsenal being one of them.Len Gower was our boss ,and what a character he was.it was a pleasure going to work,a pity it closed down.
the goalkeeper may ave bin cliff waterworth, he passed away last year.
