I have a video called A Platt Bridge Story. On it is a cine-film of a wedding which I would guess to be in the 1930s between Gladys Rigby and James Liptrot. It shows an older man standing very proudly ba a coach with the name William Liptrot on it. If this is your family, you probably have a copy, but if not I would be happy to lend it to you. I will watch this space!

Hi dave, it's cliff from unsworths coaches i need to get in touch with your family and have drawn a blank so far dont think i can put my number on hear but bill knowes it.

Comment by: irene on 19th October 2008 at 11:21

dave, it is a video I have, not a photo, so can't put on album, I don't think... not well up with anything technical!Am going to get it transferred to a dvd, then would be willing to lend you video. If I seem cautious it is just that I don't think the video is still available and if tape snapped I wouldn't be able to replace it. watch this space!

Hi Dave John Unsworth, I rember your dad driving for Liptrots then later for my Dad Clifford Unsworth. Your taught me alot, I remember he used Old fold away Esso road maps to get about he country when he was Touring, I also remember him saying he "Never used a ring road" he would always go the direct route through any big town or city. He would need an Helicopter today to do that! I wonder what your dad would think about Sat Navs?
