By Bamfurlong Colliery, do you mean the "Mains Colliery" at Bamfurlong
Bamfurlong Colliery was not Mains Colliery which was situated at the other End of the village Bamfurlong Colliery was bought by theWIGAN COAL CORPORATION during the slump of the thirties such that its output allocation could be used by the more profitsble other pits in th company. It was thhen closed and all dismantled.
