My brother Fred Hesketh was at Dawlish from Horwich Loco works. It must have been in the early 60's.
I have a similar photo taken in 1941. Same building but to the right of your photo. My Nan kept the photo in an album but at this point I need to find out which of my relatives was actually there.

My grandfather stayed in the railway convalescent home Dawlish in 1937 (John Pinder Stephenson) - does anyone know what patients were convalescing from?
My father, Frank Bostwick was in Dawlish convalescent home around 1935. I believe he was convalescing from nephritis, which happened when he was kicked by a horse he was working with on the railways. I also know that the home was run by the railways union. It is possible that patients had a variety of disabilities, as a result of their work.
I have seen a photo of him and others there around that time and would love to get a copy of that photo. Any ideas?
I have a similar photograph dated 1948 taken inexactly the same place. My grandfather Horace Henry Haynes is sitting in the center waring the same wig. I think it must be something to do with the Free Masons. He was also a railway worker in Essex. But what was he doing in Dawlish? Who are the others in the photo?
I have a photo of my grandfather, Albert Victor Boxall taken in 1950. It was taken slightly to the right of this photo standing in the doorway.
I have a photo on Ancestry of my grandfather from 1948.
