My grandfather Arthur Winnard, pictured at the Lino Works that was on Appley Lane North in Appley Bridge.He was the Fire Officer for many years.Possibly taken in the 1950s.

My father was a welder at the Lino works before ww2 and again after ww2 as they kept his job open for him to return his name was Joseph Wilson his family lived in the house beside the canal
My Grandad too. He remembered when he got a sovereign for work & was very happy!!!!!
