Brings back some memories Fred,I worked with Frankie from 1962-1967,thats the 1st time that I have seen him still.

Bernard Died in Dec 2007 and there was a good contingent from the Parkside Deputies and overmen there at St. Johns Pemberton for his funeral.

Typical of Frankie to be the dirtiest man in the pit! Looks like he hasn't been home for a few days there.

Great memories Fred, I heared they were about to build a Bungalow at the pit bottom for Frankie when it closed,

thank you fred for your comment 11 april 2007 about my late husband bernard and remembering him ,he is deeply loved and missed every day.The date he passed was 15/11/2007 not december thank you again Ann Butcher.

sorry to hear bernard died,these have been some of the best men i have been proud to work with,real pit men the salt of the earth,i am 67 now and still love to look at old photos of parkside keep them coming.kf

i always got on with bernard very nice fellow always remember bernard checking our weekend rota every week to make sure everyone was getting fair share of good shifts and bad ones

I worked at parkside from 76-82 (and moved to South Africa and joined Gullick)I had some great times there and good laughs. We worked hard and had a bloody good laugh along the way. I wonder if anyone can remember some of the good times. Great forum I look forward to having a chat with old mates. Cheers bill gore

Billy Gore now thats a blast from the past.Remember you an little mon (frankie Groves )didnt really get on.Was it your leaving do at Wigan Pier when a lad had an orange shirt on that was pit issue.Have you still got a tash billy
