I was at CWS Glassworks Platt Bridge for 5 years until its closure in 91/92, being a fork lift driver I was one of last to leave after the clear up. Prior to the gates shutting I went round with my camera clicking away. I have over 50 photos of the glassworks. These are just a few.

C Simm ? are you colin by any chance? I used to work driving the forklifts in the warehouse loading the glass onto the wagons with Jimmy Horrocks and Kieran Fraine. I remember Ernie Benson was the F/L driver on that shift. Brian Bradshaw was my manager. I think Brian still has the coupon round ! I will be putting some more photos on this week including your locker room trashed!

This photo is of Little Joe mastering the machine we all called the "herdy gerdy".. it was a sweeper that we used to collect all the warehouse dust / Glass breakages .. However it did not like the strapping from the pallets as it was always getting stuck .. anyway once it got on full power Littel Joe was dragged across the warehouse / yard ...

Found this site and recognised at least three or four names from the past, now living in Scotland but remember my glassworks days at Wigna and Worksop pity we were taken over by that mob, and now Worksop glassworks has been demolished.
