The cleansing dept. had it's headquarters at one time I think? at the corner of Sovereign Road and Warrington Road, The main building is still there Maybe this is the location of the Flood photos? Or maybe they are on the same site as the 1930's construction i.e. Frog Lane. If you look closely at the old flooded photos and the 1930's construction photos. You can make out the same two chimneys and railway signals. As both the Sovereign Road depot and Frog Lane depot are both near railways it could be either.

Ron,it was the Streets Dept. that was at the corner of Sovereign Rd. and Warrington Lane. I think the Cleansing Dept.has always been down Frog Lane.

Before Frog Lane opened the Cleansing Dept was based in Miry Lane where I would pressume these photographs were taken The tip at that time was in Soho St. Newtown.
