Here is a pic of another Coal Queen. Anne Melling, her father was Alan Melling and I think that he came from Whelley somewhere. Alan was a deputy at Parkside

Besides the Coal Queen there was the Queen Of Industry Competition. The finals were held at the Casino Club.

Worked with her dad Alan for years on l40 face hope he is still going strong How's his mate Pete Murray was an overman on my opposite shift.
