Gullicks Machine Shop

Early days, Circa 1960 at Clarington Forge. Of the six men in the photo, I am reliably informed that Billy McGowan is at bottom left, the man in the flat cap is Bill Heyes, the two men in discussion are John Donleavy & Brian Taylor(don't know which one is which) and the man stood behind them is Bill Rickets. I don't know the name of the man at the top of the steps which at this time was still the Bulldog tools area prior to expansion and eventual move to Seaman Works. The Foreman (not shown) was Bob Hilton. Not a stillage or pallet to be seen, but only two strips of wood, what were you thinking Billy?

Hi Whups, Yes I did, started as an apprentice in 1970 and worked in this machine shop setting up Capstan Lathes with Billy McGowan, Ken Roby, Jimmy Prescott etc. They had stillage's by then!!
