I believe the location of this photograph to be Foundry lane, Highfield. The date would be late 60's, early 70's at a guess. The S20 Foden was the nicest looking machine that ever came out of Sandbach ( in my opinion ) and with the possible exception of the steel cabbed S40, the nicest to drive. Note there are only two twist locks holding the container to the trailer. Try getting away with that nowadays.

Did Ron Live in the Pemberton area, Seem to recollect He was a member of Wigan & District Model Railway Society.

No, it's Liverpool Garry. KA, KB, KC, KD and KF were all Liverpool numbers as was LV. Cheers. Eddie.

I don't live in England anymore,but was told he died about 10 years ago,he lived on the estate at the bottom of foundry lane,and yes he was a member of wigan model club,

Thanks for the reply Allan. I used to work with him in the mid 70's when we were pulling containers out of Garston dock for a company called Cawoods. I lost touch with him when I moved on to another job.
