The plaque on the tower names Eustace Ashurst House, it was cast at the Swift and House Foundry

The Foundry were based in Newtown, ( I think near ATS) They also cast wheels, pulleys and gears.

Does anyone one remember the tall water tower at Billinge Hospital, I can only vaguely remember it, I think it was similar to this one, though I can recall a very deep well at the back of the old boiler house as I was shown that in the 1980s, it was covered over with railway sleepers.

Yes they were Colin, click on Work, Swift and House and you will see some examples of what they cast.

That water tower would make a beltin conversion into a very unique house, like on grand designs perhaps.
i`ve always loved unusual buildings like that.
There`s also a similar disused gravity hoist building on bowerfold lane stockport that would make an unusual conversion too.

Tower now converted into two apartments each with three floors. Look on Rightmove.
