Astley Green.
Not 100% but I think it's Bickershaw. Be grateful for confirmation one way or the other.
Definitely Bickershaw.
L to R No1 pit looking like a crucifix, No4 pit and No3 can just be seen to the right of No4.
I'm covinced its Parsonage in Leigh, Wigan rd.
Definitely not Parsonage as that only had 2 headgears.
Definitely Bicky! No.4 pit with skip winder, this was an upcast pit hence the air casing. You can just make out the fan chimney (or 'evasee') to the left of the headgear.
I'm with winder,it's Bickershaw. After all he should know,he used to operate one of the winders there, hence the name!
Its Bickershaw worked there as a lad
Could be Golborne???
They all look the same to me, how can one tell the difference!!
Bickershaw without a doubt
Malc all pit head gear where different shapes and design so anyone who worked at a pit could tell you that pit by its headgear
No doubt its Bickershaw Colliery I was one of the winding enginemen there along with "Winder",I recognise the pit skyline anywhere.
