A Walker Fan for a Australian Gold Mine 1953/4. I think the fitter pictured name was Birchall or Atherton from the Billinge area. He either stayed in Australia or came back then emigrated.

The photograph shows the inlet side of a two-stage, axial-flow fan of decent proportions!
