9 March 1944 British Red Cross Home Nursing Advanced certificate of Joyce Hampson. From 1941 to 1943 my mother trained at the Miss Bishop nurse training school somewhere near Wigan Infirmary and undertook further training and duties at Wigan Infirmary. She gained certificates in Home Nursing and First Aid to the Injured at basic and advanced levels.
