Whit Monday Walk 1955, Darlington Street. Ch Insp Duffy on left, PC Joe Brooks in the centre and PC Marsh on right. Could Be Ken Marsh. The info which came with the photograph just gives the name as PC Marsh.

Wonderful to see Darlington Street again as we once knew it. Thanks for posting.

Remember Joe Brooks and Ken Marsh well, although they had both retired at the time of my police service.
I worked with Joe's wife Ivy for a short time at Pemberton Police Office.

Ah, back in the times when the Police weren't so fully occupied controlling drunks in King Street that they couldn't afford to provide safety cover for folks wanting to carry out normal, traditional activities.

I remember having my ohoto taken on Whit Monday, about 1960, on the market square in my Sacred Heart alter boy cassock, stood with either this police horse and officer, r ones very similar. Walking days are just not the same!

That's my uncle Joe Brooks riding in front, I used to be SO proud of him. A lovely man.
