I wonder what the occasion was?

mark, im'e sure i have that photo in a wigan paper that i bought a few of weekly a long time ago,they were called something like wigan memories ? i will dig them out and look

Jose, I've also seen this photo elsewhere, I think they must have been given out as a keepsake.

I wonder what year this was, and what the occasion was. Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, died in 1968, so this is bound to be her. I'm surprised she isn't wearing gloves.

Just found this. Looks like it was Eckersley's Mill in 1941.

I think she IS wearing gloves.

The photo has Taylors mill wrote on the back & my great Auntie who's photo it was worked at Taylors Mill.
Unfortunatley she's not with us anymore so I can't ask her

Very "chic" gloves Irene, they even seem to have painted finger nails on them.
