Yes that's right. Right hand line goes to Haigh Junction

As far as I recall the split off the main line to Red Rock and Chorley was at Boars Head Station which had a platform on each line, and was south of this junction.
I remember Boars head station was a victim of mining subsidece and over the years the lines and platforms were brought up to the original level and as a result the station buildings eventually had steps down to them
It was a unique V shaped station.

Was that station unique? What about the historic Earlestown Station?

The left hand (down) line will enter a bridge below the main line and emerge to join the main line at Standish Junction. The line to its right is the up line which leaves the main line at Standish Junction.

Non of De-Trafford sorry Garry but just about to try and upload some more. I did, or I should say WE, used to chat for a good spell as the Whelley line was that busy and the telephone lines were of the 'Party' type. Standish, Boars Head, De-Trafford and sometimes Haigh all on the line at once, and sometimes further afar if any signal man left his connection hooked up. Don't remember any names from De-Trafford apart from the relief men.

Wish it was like that today.
