I wonder why this did not takde the Whelley loop? In 61, the loop was handling lots of freight!

Peter why could this train and many more, not have taken the Whelley line?

The signalman or in the case of No.2 box, Me, didn't get much information about Freight Train loads unless it was an OGLO. I knew at the time of its destination, but not now, can't remember. As it was loose coupled it may have had stock to uncouple at various depots, and when every vehicle had been dropped, the engine and guards van could have gone to another job or the sheds. Just beyond that curve going north is a set of catch points, I don't know if there was any on Whelley Line, I didn't walk that far to find out.
