1960 Shunting Duties, sidings area, north-side of Wigan North Western. Locomotive is from Springs Branch Depot.
Peter I am building a modelof Wallgate Station and approaches, I have been struggling for years to find more detail of this area between Uncle Joe's and thw WCML and along you pop with your train snaps, Oh happy day. Kevan

I have some other photos of Wallgate with a clear view of the whole station from this point, but I think they are all in negative form as yet.

Seems a big loco for shunting duties!

Shunting it did, on a regular basis, more than the Tanks I would have said. On one of the pics. with a train departing the station northward, if you look to left of pic., you will see at the side of the wooden platform a Tank that was on shunting duties for that day.
