glad to see you have your spade ready to dig out the tracks to stop the top rollers from cloging up
Plus 17hrs. per week greasing time, donkey engine harder to crank than the family car, everything on this cat was manual. After this went I was left with an International Drot with a 4in1, I wasn't so good on it as I'd only operated farm machinery before this.
Peter did you work for Armstrongs haulage, plant and excavation co, in the 70s. They at that time were based at little lane Goose Green.
ALAN: I did work for Terry Armstrong in the early 70's from the rear of I think it was the oil Co., was it. I was there when the chap from across the road at the wood yard lost his finger. A neighbour and his son next door but two to me work for the Armstrongs at Whittle Quarries. I spoke to Dennis the foreman quite a while back, maybe he's retired now. Sorry for the late reply, I have been on another project on this site, got carried away.
