McAlpine compound south of Culcheth. Transport was provided for employees by McAlpine, I was the relief driver of the bus which transported workmen, the route started at Chorley through Standish, Scholes, Higher Ince, Hindley, Hindley Green, Westleigh, Pennington (by'-pass not yet built), Lowton and on to the compound where each person started their relative duties.
Second person from right is Neal ? boarded bus on Nel Pan Lane along with a David Rickerby, the one with the spectacles was known as B.B..
