Burney's began to change from Horse drawn transport to lorries in the 1910's. This photograph is taken outside their premises in Standishgate. The ornate building is still there, and is the only one still standing from the time of this photograph. I think it's now the HALIFAX Building Society or it's next door<g>
I would think that this company is the same company, who later went on the make Handbags.

This was my Grandfather's business, I have a photocopy of this photo which isn't very good would it be possible to obtain quality copy somehow.
