Seddon Diesel VDM602M, 220 cummins at rest ! one of many operated by Kwik Save distribution depot Ashton in Makerfield in the early 1970s.
Boy could these beasts go !!!.

Well Well Well, this photo brings back some Great memories for me Wally, and you're right they could go and pull. But after saying that, a bit awkward to work on...no tilt-cab and no room around the engine. I think in my time at Kwik save garage I've mended every moving part on these over the years. They looked great in the 80s when all the fleet were painted brown and beige and the new logo on the trailers. Clary and Frank Nolan they were great characters and sadly no longer with us, Frank later took charge of a new Daf ridgid *** 162S (I think). Kwik Save in later years had the largest fleet of Daf trucks in Britan.

Good memories eh Colin, Keep looking at wiganworld I'll post a photo you will be pleased to see of 162S or was it 43S I can't remember also wait for the photo of the vehicles sent to Yorks, starting with VDM475M UCA432R and so on, not strickly a Wigan Photo but has very strong Wigan connections

ADM 43S was Kevin Melling's Daf 2200 unit...I knew them all at one time. The trucks served Kwik Save well in their day.
