Used to work at Platts Printers next door to Coops - if I had a shilling for the number of times I walked up those steps to deliver printing.

A little frightened to leave a message on this website as my father use to run this factory Coops. I remember visiting the factory as a little girl and the building scared me to death! I would love to see some more pictures of the factory as it is truely a beautiful building and hence it is still standing today? Does any-one remember my father Anthony Marsden and my uncle Christopher Marsden..please let me know.thank you

I started work at Coops in 1960 and your father Anthony Marsden and your uncle Christompher Marsden where bosses there at the time. They were both very nice gentlemen who always had time to speak to you. After your father left the company and Dunn & Co. took over the place never seemed the same as it did being part of a family concern. Coop & Co always had a good reputation in providing quality clothing. I have only just discovered this web site hence the late comments.

Does anyone remember my aunt Frances Hayton working at Coops? She retired in 1960, or 1961 so this may be a longshot, but I would love to know if anyone has any memories of her.

Does anyone remember William Prescott who worked there most of his life until he retired about 1960 I think? Also, a nurse who worked for the company in around the 1950s Kathleen McDermott?

William Prescott was my Grandad (died in 1981) and my Dad also worked at Coops. Funnily enough, I'm married to Kathleen McDermott's son. Small world.

My grandfather John Ashurst worked here after surviving the Somme and suffering from acute neurasthenia as a result
Coops offered him a lifeline.
