Photograph taken from a 1902 Walkers Engineers Trade Catalogue.
We had an identical engine as this at Stones colliery Garswood. The driving ropes were made from stranded cotton. They were lubricated with graphite. The thing hat struck me when in the engine house was how quiet the engine was in operation
