I started my apprenticeship as a fitter here in 1962, it was my first pit after my initial training at Old Boston training school. Thanks Norman for the photo it brings back many memories

GOOD FOTO OF MY 1ST PIT. I WORKED AT A LOT OF DIFFERENT PITS.AND ON THE DAY PARKSIDE CLOSED I DECIDED TAKE MY CAMERA DOWN THE MINE
(VERY NAUGHTY I KNOW !!!! BUT WE TESTED FOR GAS AND HAD 3 METHANOMITERS WITH US) TOOK SOME GR8 FOTOS OF OUR DOSCO WITH OUR TEAM ON IT.I WILL TRY AND FIND THEM AND UPLOAD EM. PS WE ALSO HAD BRANDY AND COKE IN OUR FLASKS. WHAT A LAST SHIFT THAT WAS. GOOD OR WOT

does anybody remember a william ( bill) bennett working here? he died in 1966 but worked here until he died aged 50

My Dad worked here (Harold Crooks) until he died suddenly in 1981 aged 50, does anyone remember him?

does anyone remember my dad keith kendrick,he worked at this pit all his life,i remember him taking me to the staff canteen when i was roughly five,and seeing the men that had just come up the shaft,scarey for a five year old

did a short spell at parsonage we moved over from goldborne.Worked in lionsbridge tunnel with les holts,frank stonehouse and colin brown worked there for a year.Then i left and woked for A.TC at parkside for a month then went down to silverdale in stoke for amco then moved to agecroft with cementation work for them till i run out off pits to work at
