Hi Andy.
Good photo of yourself, with Cyril Roden( my old boss) making the presentation.(wedding perhaps) Also in the shot is Teddy Gleeson over your left shoulder, and Broxton( can't remember his first name)between you and Cyril Roden. You asked if I was ok which I can reply up to now still going with the head down. Hope you are OK,and we must thank Joe Holden's son for these photo's which I have never seen before.Fill in any names that you can. Thanks Brian

Hi Brian (long time since we were apprentices together, looking back i think we were the luckiest young men in wigan and district. )the chap between Teddy and me i think is Jack Clarke, the face next to me i think is Tommy Kevill (not sure of the spelling)the one you can just make out over ERIC Broxton's left shoulder is Joe Holden, Derek's dad, the little fellow just peeping over Eric Broxton's right shoulder could possibly be Arthur Rudd, but that is just a guess, i think i have this photo somewhere which may show more of us guys in blue, will have a look. Yes it was wedding presentation, (i was just 19 at the time)clock cutlery and a real fancy blue and gold teapot and jug set, (which was the present from you and the other apprentices, still have the teapot)Incidentally my son (50 next year)is married to derek's daughter.

Maureen.
Just seen your comments regards Keith's tragic death, and I send my deepest condolences to the family.I had heard of his death from neighbours of his Joan and Tom Shawcross, who I see from time to time.I hadn't heard from Andy as he was always know from his apprentice ship days, which was many years ago, until the exchange of comments on this page a few months ago.We went our different ways after coming out of our time, and it's thanks to Derek Holden posting those photo's on this site that I made contact with Andy again. It's a great pity that we didn't have or make the oppotunity to meet up again to have a natter about our youthful days, but unforunately it wasn't to be.Once again I send my condolences to all his family and friends.
