Irene, thanks for posting these pics and the ones from HAGS. The teacher 2nd left is Miss Glover. I remember her because she once told me I had a vivid imagination and I'd no idea what she meant. I also think I had a crush on her. Romance, age seven, eh. Marvellous.

i can remember my first day at school in mrs Sandifords class making new friends susan hitchmough & john traveno i also remember miss ashurst getting married and having to call her mrs Johnson miss glovers class was the leaving class before you went up to the juniors a great teacher when i see foxgloves they always remind me of her she told us a story a bout fairies using the flowers for gloves also remember dancing around the maypole and many playground games i could go on for ever irene thanks for the memories i can remember you to you were in the class above me
I was in the same class as most or the commentors and can still vividly remeber them all, especially Billy Green and susan hitchmough.

I thought the comments had come to an end.....it's good to know people are still looking at the pics.I am currently in contact with Mrs. Johnson, (Miss Ashurst), and am pleased to tell you she is fine and has also enjoyed seeing the photos. Well, i think i must have slept through my infant school years as i can't remember any of the teachers. I was in the same class a Billy Green, Carol Hilton, John Trevena, Ian Price but alas have no memories of the teachers.

Happy memories came flooding back when I found this picture(and a tear or two!) I remember Miss Follett well, I sometimes wondered if my imagination had made her up, she is my warmest memory of my first day at school.I too remember Miss Glover but I remember being a bit scared of her-no idea why!!! The classroom behind holds many happy memories too. We use to play on the patio behind them in a two seater see-saw! Thanks for sharing this picture, youv`e made my day!!!
Thanks a lot for posting this pic I remember Miss Follett Mrs Glover and Mrs Johnson she had a daughter Jane who was in the same year as me was Mrs Moore the headmistress?
I am sorry to say that Mrs. Johnson, (nee Miss Ashurst), passed away on May 8th 2014. God Bless.
