I presume that is Mark Calter prior to his goalkeeping days.

Mark, What happened to Brian Houghton[goalie].He used to live in Bickershaw Lane. Haven't seen him for about 50 years.Graham Moore went to Ashton CentralSchool the same time has me,we used to call him Moir because he was a fan of the player with that name who I think played for Bolton Don't know if I spelled his name correctly.

Soon after this picture was taken George Charnock (left on front row) suffered a double fracture of his right (I think) leg. He never really recovered from this which was a great shame as he was an excellent player.

Those were the days before showers etc. Both teams changed in a shed behind the old catholic club.On bad days we had one bucket of water for all of us to share.
From a playing point of view we won almost everything with our closest rival being Wigan boys club.
On a sad note Mark Calter has also passed away.
