ariel picture of John Rigby I think that it is in the mid to late 70' as the sports hall has not been built.

think you,ll find it a lot earlier than that,,mor early fifties,,,theres no sign of "new mining tech or thomas linacre,,,opposite gas showroom,,,market hall and square still evident as is central station,,,not sure where john rigby fits in to this pic,,,

I would guess the late 1940's. I attended the Bluecoat Primary School and I remeber walking home past Bull Hey (the field opposite the Grammar School) I moved to the recently built Thomas Linacre in 1953 as a 10 year old. What a fantastic photograph!!!
