The person on the end of the front row was my uncle,Frank Gaskell who was head boy of the school.He went onto Cambridge to study maths.His name is commomerated on the honours boards now in the health centre at the old school. He can also be seen on the photograph of the Rugby team next to this on the site

The master at the left is E J (Bill) Williams who never read a book after graduating.I have this on the authority of Eric (Weedy) Wallace

The player 2nd left on the back row is Frank Gregory. He went on to become headmaster of Scot Lane Primary School, and played cricket for Wigan 2nd eleven for many years.
