Brian,I was there '61 to '65 and remember some of the teachers in the pic. Jack Gilyatt was the Head then - an awful man whom no-one liked.I think he is the one sat next to the right of the lady. Got any more pic's ?
That's Ken Richardson in the middle of the second row.
He's stil alive and kicking I believe.
What did Mr Richardson teach - I can't remember ?
To John Brown regards more photo's ,go to Album then schools, click on All Saints more photo's there, but more will be posted from time to time.To XXstuartXX yes Ken Richardsomn is alive and kicking as you say, and he will be at the forthcoming re-union for ex All Saints pupils to be held Friday 2nd Nov.7PM in the Deanery, to which all ex pupils of All Saints are invited.
Ken Richardson taught maths when I was there.
i left all saints on the same day as mr rigby xmas1957 mr mr richardson did P>E and was art teacher.p/s is this reunion for all saints pupils only .bill rayner ashton.
Bill Rayner
The forthcoming re-union at All Saints, which takes place on Friday evening 2nd November 7pm onwards, is for all ex pupils and staff who attended the school when it was All Saints. By asking is it for All Saints pupils only, I presume that you would want to bring somebody else along, but the Hall is only licenced for two hundred people so there is only room for ex pupils and staff at the re-union.
thanks for your reply brian .unfortunatly i only get back from holiday on the 3rd so i can,t make it .bill rayner.
Two, very good teachers there. Sure that is Miss Rigby, taught me how to cook! My favourite teacher, Mr Mawdesley! I thought this teacher was great!!!! He was, the teacher of all teachers!!!!
Ken Richardson taught art and P.E.I was told many years ago that he was a boxing champion in his army days
Back left is Ernie Griffiths
M Row 1st left is Roy Jackson (English) and extreme right is Newton Banks (Science)
Richardson taught P.E.and Art from 1948 to 1952 when I was there.A tough bloke, but good. I think he had been in the Army. We could do with his sort now
Only just just round to this pic. Like Billy Raynor I was in the same class and left at the same time. Mr Rigby was a good man and a good headmaster. Mr Richardson did in our time teach P T and art. Remember the pump (plimsoll) on the backside well. rumoured to be in the tank Core during Nat Serv. another good teacher. Back row in pic, Messrs Ernie Griffiths - "Scorp" Walsh - Bill Clark (later head at blue Coat) mawdesley & Tommy Gore.(came from Poolstock C of E) middle row Roy jackson -? - ken Richardson - Alan Baxter "Jock" Shaw. front row only recognise Mr Rigby and Bill Nicholson. All good teachers some with faults but a decent 4 years at All saints.
Shaw and Jackson were a poor excuse for teachers they wouldn`t get through the school doors today.
