Thanks for the info, Patricia. Do you think there are some missing faces? Am I right in thinking there was a Joan Winstanley, small, blonde girl, came from new Springs I think - and an Annette. Perhaps it's old age setting in!

Girl, front row ,far right is definitely Marjorie Ashurst. Married name was Honor and died at the age of 41/42yrs from cancer.
hello to Kathleen Baron!.....how lovely it is to keep bumping into you in Wigan. I'm so glad you and your Mum have seen the photo of your brother.....Wigan World is a wonderful website, even for those of us who aren't "computer-savvy", (especially me!). Yes 3rd boy from the left, back row is Roger my brother. He moved to Australia in 1970 and eventually bafter many different careers and adventures became a clinical psychologist in a prison in Western Australia.His teachers always said he would end up in prison! Sadly he died of cancer several years ago. Before that he spent a year on a sabbatical working at Hindley prison.
