Further to Irene's query re the whereabouts of the Bluecoat School:-
'Then and Now' images using Ron's original photo, and a more recent one.
Only the Tudor House hotel and terrace houses in New Market St remain recognisable.
I hope you don't mind me using your photo, Ron.

My mum Marjorie Bolton used to go to Bluecoat school remembers the teachers and one ore two of the nuns. things were strict back then.

I went to All Saints school(61 to 65), and remember us taking a lesson or two in the Bluecoat school, for some long forgotten reason?

These photos are not of the Bluecoat school in Hallgate, which I attended in 1940’s. Looks more like the Nuns home in New Market St.
