I believe the boy directly behind the teacher on the right hand side is Barry Cartwright
Evelyn - it is Barry ..... My year but not my form/class. Barry was in my class at St Nat's before we went to Park High. This looks like 1st year at high school which was 1983
Lesley Cummins is standing to the left of the teacher.
That's me front left sat next to mike kearsley
The teacher on the left is Mrs boydell she taught me in English lessons from 1984 until I left on the 23'rd of may 1986 she also stood in for many other teachers iam not in the photograph myself as i started park high school on Tuesday 11'th of August 1981 my best mate was Andrew Thomas Flynn from aspull and our form teacher was miss Marie Glynn in form 1g until 1983 she married her husband round about 1982 and become Mrs Marie Callaghan I can still remember the exact time and day/dates and what she wore when we all had to arrive at the sports hall at 8:30am on Tuesday 11/8/1981 as we all waited to be chosen for our class/form our first class room was room 43 in the onward block were the headmaster of the lower school Mr Ronald Cole had his small office this building has since been demolished round about 2016/2017 along with years of history along with the other modern 1950/1960's buildings EXCEPT THE ORIGINAL STONE BUILDING WHICH IS PROTECTED BY LAW SO THEY COULD BUILD PRIVATE HOME'S FOR PROFIT!!!.
The reason they closed the school was because not enough students were choosing to study for their own education and future students were sent to other schools because it was no longer viable to keep up with the cost of running these facts were explained to me personally by our fantastic headmaster of the entire school Mr Trevor Snowdon BA after i spoke to him in December 1997 in the now closed Argos store in Wigan galleries shopping centre it was extremely pleasant to see Mr Snowdon for the first time since leaving school years before he explained that he personally along with his other loyal members of staff and former students etc found it most upsetting but sadly after a public enquiry and campaigning against the school closure along with other schools in the greater Manchester area the battle was sadly over good luck and God bless all who attended park high school formerly Hindley and Abram grammar school.
