Don't you mean "Bev" Bolton who was the younger brother of Dave Bolton (he attended All Saints school) the Wigan stand off at the time? "Bev" if I remember rightly was the first 15 year old in the country to break 2 minutes for the half mile at the English Schools Championships.
It certainly was Bev and not Dave.
sorry, only remembered it was Bev when I had posted and missed off Dave being his elder brother
It always seemed to me that it wasn't a case of "would Bev Bolton win the Cross Country" but "how many minutes behind would the runner-up be".
How old are you then Healey - you must be 90.
