May Queen Celebration at Ince Central School around 1960.Susan Grundy was the Queen that year and the rest of the girls were her attendants. Note the large speaker marked "Continental"in the background.....the school hall was used for dances in those days and was given the name "The Continental".

i can remember susan grundy two classes above me she had brother brian in the same year as me ann bretherton was was chosen as the queen in my year i was chosen as one of the attendants but i turned it down because i wanted to dance on the maypole

I have the same photo only it's me in it ,can still remember the colours of the dress. very pale tuquoise or blue with small pink flock type flowers, i thought it was beautiful.

It WAS beautiful, Karina, and I loved those long gloves.It was a very hot day.....I remember it so well, as well as all the many rehearsals for it. Hope you and yours are well. Irene.
